Z Fish Report (10/27/16)

Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5-6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, on out to about 50 miles with the 1,000 fathom line being at 32 miles: 87°
Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 87°
Blue water: The water is a bit discolored to about 6-7 miles off the beach and just beyond the 100 fathom curve. Then it is “clean” for the next 20 miles, and blue from about 30 miles on out. (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST)
Offshore- About the same all this month. Very slow fishing offshore for all species.
We are averaging 1 sailfish raised to the boat and less than 1 hooked per boat per day.
There are still very few dorado, and no yellowfin tuna.
Inshore: I talked to Adolfo, on the panga Dos Hermanos today. He told me all week he has been doing excellent on roosters, but he was travelling a bit further than normal day. He logged 1 day of 14 roosters and 30 jack crevalle down at La Barrita.

Russ Weaver of Corvallis Oregon, fished with Jesus on the panga Princess Marcy. Russ raised 14 roosters and only hooked 2 on the spin gear with a surface popper. I wonder if the bananas he bought at Arturo’s in the morning had anything to do with that.
