Z Fish Report (7/10/14)

The 82° blue water is about 6 miles and depending on where you are on the coast, to almost about 3 miles.

Offshore – As I stated a couple of weeks ago, we are about due for our annual July mini-migration of sailfish. And they are here now. There is no problem to go out and raise 6 or 7 sailfish a day and hook an average of 3 per boat. Cheva, on the panga Dos Hermanos raised 6 on Tuesday and hooked 5.

Unfortunately, there are very few anglers here to take advantage of the action, and with the full moon period coming up next week, this may not last very long.

Cheva also reported some new weed lines, but they were not holding dorado yet. They will need a few more days to get some algae growth, and attract the bait fish.

I assume the Inshore is still great, especially for the light line spin fisherman or fly rod angler. But, I couldn’t find a single captain who fished the inshore this week. Again, there are few clients, and getting a decent report is tough.
