The 84° blue water has not changed in the last three
weeks and is out about 6 miles, following the 100 fathom curve, with clean water
just off the beach.
Offshore, the boats are averaging 2 to 3 sailfish a day each.

Most of the action starts from about 6 miles, and then on out to 14
miles. Several small dorado have been taken, but the water is just too warm for
the blue marlin and yellowfin tuna.
We are getting some night time rains, which helps to cool things off, but
no serious deluges. Many people are unaware of how the “rain season” here on
the West Coast of Mexico really works, so I have included the following link to
an article I wrote explaining it better. The main thing is we do not get the
monsoon rains many people envision, and they are missing out on a lot of
excellent fishing because of their lack of knowledge.

Super panga Gitana owner Santiago is on vacation. After fly fishing the San Juan and seeing the Grand Canyon, he is now in Ontario, Canada fishing for walleye muskie and pike. Am I jealous?...Yup |
Dania's rooster |
The inshore action is still great, especially for roosterfish. Spin fishing clients Heath and Dania Hook of Houston, Texas went down to Puerto Vicente Guerrero for a day of inshore fishing. We did excellent, catching 7 roosters from 25 pounds up to 50 pounds, and 5 jack crevalle from 10 to 18 pounds. For Heath, an experienced saltwater fisherman, these were his first roosters. He is now a firm believer in the roosterfish; its beauty, excitement, and fighting abilities.
A very worthy deed Heath
and Dania did was to bring down and distribute school supplies for the kids in the village of Puerto Vicente. The
kids all got much needed boxes of colored and lead pencils. Plus, even a soccer
ball and pump for them to play with. The older kids were more excited about the
soccer ball, because they did not have one. The middle aged ones were excited
about the colored pencils, and the youngest probably liked best the Tootsie-Roll
suckers passed out to everyone. But, as Heath said, “I have been to a lot of countries in the world, including time in
India. For kids.. soccer, school supplies, and candy are universal”.
