Cheva , on the panga Dos Hermanos II |
Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5 - 6 mile mark at the 100 fathom
line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being about 32 miles: 88°
Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 88°
Blue water: (Chlorophyll
amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) The blue water is from about a
couple of hundred yards off the beach, and on out. Some of the beaches to north
and down near Petatlan are showing discolored water
Offshore: The
sailfish action remains unchanged from the last few weeks, with few fish being
raised to the trolled spread. There is action for yellowfin tuna, from 10 to 20
pounds, is out about thirty miles.
Another rooster on the panga Dos hermanos II |
Inshore: The
action remains the best bet, but very few anglers to take advantage of it. Averaging 4 to 5 roosterfish a day, a few sierras, 4 to 5 dorado, and several
black skipjack tuna, and all on spin or fly gear. The roosters, like the
dorado, this week were not big, but averaged between 5 to 10 pounds, with a few
being larger. There are enough of the smaller dorado, the price for whole fish,
on the principle beach near the pier, is down to $1.25 a pound.
