Z Fish Report (3/14/19)

Long time fishermen, Ken Hill and Brian Hetland  went out 35 miles, looking for
yellowfin  tuna with Jesus (Hey -Sus) on the panga Dos Hermanos III.
They didn't find the tuna , but Ken (above) got this rare spearfish. Below, Brian
got this small striped marlin. Both were taken on spin gear.

Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5 - 6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being about 32 miles: 82°

Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 80°. Without a dominate 80° water temperature for the inshore, the rosters leave the area.

Blue water: (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) Discolored, with no blue water until at least 16 miles.

Offshore: Still slower than should be expected. Like the last few weeks past, one or two sailfish a day is considered lucky.
Above and below. A week of action with Adolfo on the panga Dos Hermanos
He even included the ceviche (tiritas) from the sierras.

Inshore: The inshore is still holding up very well. Even though the roosters have disappeared, due to the cooler water temperatures, the jack crevalle and sierras are providing a lot of action.
Keith with Cheva
Keith Paul, another long time visitor, fished with Cheva on the panga Dos Hermanos II. This is what he emailed me.
Today was Cookie Cutter Jack's day! We slid up to a surface disturbance. Using spin gear, I made a cast , with a 2 ounce Megabait to it. I hooked up immediately. Then the jacks rose all around us. We were in the middle of a school 150 meters around! Six rods were hooked up in as many seconds, with only one human winch aboard. We were north of 20 jack's, 1 sierra, 3 black skipjack, and a small Pompano. All to the panga. I lost count of how many came unbuttoned. I'm all beat up, and smiling.
